Back to subject matter, its apparantly not possible for a UK Siemens CL75 to be unlocked over the phone, they need to be connected up to a Infinty Dongle box for the deed to be done, unless they are Vodafone locked from what I understand. All Virigin or other locked phones need a dongle box to unlock them, so you have to pay £10 to get it done. Here's a couple to places that do:

I know there was mention only a couple of posts ago, which stated the CL75 had to be dongle unlocked in the UK, which I actually already believed.

I concur, probably like many others I only found this forum because I was looking for information on how to get a Virgin supplied Seimens CL75 unlocked.
Since I am not a mobile phone trader, nor one of those people who change phones more often than some change their *********, I somehow doubt that I would have a sustained interest in communicating here, beyond the time this phone becomes unlocked, unless I can see a profitable reason for doing so.
A question: About what proportion of long term inhabitants of this forum are making money from mobile phones ?, and by comparison how big is the transient population, i.e. those who appear, post for a few weeks and then vanish ? Does anyone have even approximate stats on this ?
Is this forum in reality mainly intended to serve those people who are trying to make money from mobile phone users ?
If so, it needs to be honest about it.
If the 'policy' referred to by BouRRi_GSM is adhered to by most of the long term regulars, then most of the transient visitors are wasting their time here.

In truth, what I want is information to confirm, or refute, the belief I now have that a Virgin supplied Siemens CL75 (poppy) mobile can ONLY be unlocked by connecting it to some sort of dongle.
I have had some people claim that a link in the phone needs to be cut under a microscope. If so, this would absolutely invalidate any warranty that may still exist for any phone.
Others appear to claim that it can be done by connecting it to a dongle.

I think a question or two needs to be asked.
Has ANYONE ever successfully unlocked a Virgin supplied Seimens CL75 just by entering codes from the keypanel ? What about CL75 phones supplied by other networks ?
If anyone has been successful, which network(s) were the phone prior to the unlocking.
