I asked how to unlock my Nokia 3585i for Sprint PCS. I was told that while I couldn't unlock it with a code, I might unlock it by "flashing". What is this? How do I do this?

Flashing is changing phone's internal program, partial or totally. You would need interface between computer and phone -in this case, Nokia DCT4 flasher-, special software to put new program into the phone and of course, the most important thing: a correct flash or program to upload the phone.

This could be dangerous if you don't know exactly what you're doing, so please post your phone IMEI and we'll calculate code for you, you won't need to flash your phone. If you visit "DCT4 flasher" section on Nokia board, you'll see how many problems people have while flashing their phones.
