This has nothing to do with Android version, but instead with encryption type. This method only worked on devices with FDE that were decrypted without entering the passcode.


Modern devices, with FBE require correct passcode to decrypt the data.

The logic behind this is when you disable system ui all interface is temporary remove and you will not have notification bar , wallpaper and so on this will affect the lock screen so it will open the phone without lock screen take it as like booting device partially so you can take your data
