Hi,
This video only for test and process how to do, u use any of data size no need to correct size just for boot files if u want 4mb to 8mb u can choose no problem.
which size u want select that size. but first u try recover from dead then write full dump from download from support site, after give here screenshot and logs, best of luck.

yes you can try it with regular power supply, for example you have dead i9300 in hand and you wanto check if it can prepair via isp, just connect your daed i9300 to to power supply and power it on ,

if your power supply read up to 12% or up to 15% and return to 00% after u release the power button , then your phone have good hardware you can repair it via isp or gpg s-boot clip,

but if your dead phone read up to 8% or up to 10% check the power ic

if your dead phone read up to 18% or up to 20% emmc damage you need to replace it ,, tested by me 100%
