I used this approach to obtain so called "root" : Root - Kernel Root Android 5.1.1 Galaxy S6 SM-G920A (AT&T) | Samsung Full Firmware | SamFirm.NET Global |

Member: 2457641 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 153 | NewQc unlock is only for qualcomm phones and doesn't require root. G920a is not qualcomm it's exynos. Steps to repair imei are 1. Reset Efs using exynos Efs reset option under Samsung tab 2. Repair drk using uart 3. Write cert using either uart or usb. Done Note: writing certificate unlocks phone automatically.
