Member: 2416253 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 4,162 | GUIDE: HTC Nexus 9 (Flounder) bootloader unlock With the new security you cannot simply unlock bootloader without enabling it from the menu. But sometimes, you may not have access to the menu to enable it. To unlock bootloader using XTC 2 Clip please do the following: 1. Connect XTC 2 Clip to the Nexus 9 using Y-cable. 2. Boot to hboot. 3. Choose SIMLOCK menu. The phone will detect the clip and return to main menu. 4. Now disconnect Y cable and connect regular USB cable from PC. 5. Do 'fastboot oem unlock'. 6. Nexus 9 will erase all data and return to bootloader. Now you can flash any firmware into your tablet. Last edited by xtc2clip; 10-31-2015 at 10:27. |

Member: 2795559 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I am trying to do this and getting nowhere. Setup: USB power -> Y cable, XTC2Clip (registered and activated) -> Nexus 9. As soon as I power on the Nexus 9 in download mode (Volume Down + Power), HBOOT locks up completely. There is no way to navigate to the SIMLOCK option. The top 6 lines of the HBOOT screen say: *** Device State - LOCKED *** FLOUNDER PVT SHIP HBOOT-3.50.0.0143 OS-n/a eMMC-boot 2048MB Feb 6 2017,18:13:20 Is this version of HBOOT resistant to XTC2Clip? Nexus 9 is specifically listed as supported and I can find no information anywhere to say otherwise. Can you please advise? |
