HTC 10 S-OFF instructions

Hello,

Here is a step-by-step manual how to S-OFF your HTC 10:

1. First step is to unlock bootloader:
a) If bootloader unlock is turned off on your phone, you need to turn it on first:
- Boot to Android OS and perform initial setup if necessary
- Go to Menu -> Developer settings and tick "Enable OEM unlock"
Run XTC 2 Tool and open "Bootloader unlock" tab, follow instructions to unlock your bootloader.

2. Reboot to download mode, open "HTC 10" tab and install twrp recovery, you can get it here:
latest version:
https://dl.twrp.me/pme/twrp-3.1.0-1-pme.img
old version:
https://dl.twrp.me/pme/twrp-3.0.2-5-pme.img
or
https://mega.nz/#!Oo9FRTYT!_i_7vF5aE...LclCm5u1wuLZng
3. Reboot to Bootloader, and press "Reboot to recovery". You should now see TWRP recovery menu.

Android version 6.x:

4. In "HTC 10" tab press "Do S-OFF button".
5. Wait for the process to finish. Done.

Android version 7.x

4. Download superSU: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/s...1612051815.zip
5. Copy the SuperSU zip file from the download link above to your device’s storage (microSD card). Insert microSD card into microSD slot of your phone.
6. Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
7 Tap on Install and select the SuperSU zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
8. After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the flashing process.

9. Once SuperSU is flashed, you’ll get Reboot System option, select it.
10. Reboot to OS. Go to S-OFF tab and press "Do S-OFF"

When superSU will ask for permissions - please allow it, otherwise the process will fail!!!

Since HTC 10 is a successor of M8/M9, it was supposed to be named M10. But HTC decided to name it just 10.

So yes, HTC M10 and HTC 10 same phones and both supported by XTC 2 Tool.

I had the same issue. Rebooting did not fix it. I just left it sit in recovery and kept trying to s-off. Eventually it recognized the HTC 10 and did the s-off process. I think I left it sit about 5 minutes or so till is recognized the phone properly.

We need to make uninstaller for 3rd party drivers, because I can see a lot of customers install drivers from unknown sources :(

Phone CID here looks stock, and it's not 11111111. Are you sure your phone has super CID?

Why do you think CID should change after S-OFF ? And to which value ...

To change CID, you have to use "Direct mode commands" tab and write the desired CID, once the phone is S-OFF.

Is your Htc 10 the Verizon version ? If so that is why. For some reason they will not respond to any questions about supporting the Verizon version of the Htc 10, its bootloader locked and the xtc2clip will not unlock it. As far as I know the xtc2clip unlocks all versions of the Htc 10 except the version sold by the largest cellular carrier in the USA which is Verizon. You would think with all the Htc 10's sold by Verizon that an update would at least be acknowledged but there are never any responses about supporting the Verizon Htc 10 for bootloader unlock.

Verizon is not yet supported for bootloader unlock, we will announce once the solution is available.

Your phone is not rooted as I understand. Probably you have only installed TWRP, but did not apply the root.

Raphael 78 05-30-2017 11:17

SuperSu must be installed !!! and then will work it.
