Phone must be S-OFF prior to unlock.

So is the bootloader unlock for the verizon htc 10 next up on the list of updates ? As was posted by Dottat the verizon htc 10 is locked down as the oem unlock bootloader setting was removed at verizons request so we cannot unlock the verizon htc 10's until the bootloader unlock is added in an update. We cannot unlock the bootloader through htc dev because verizon has a blank up their blank and will not allow htc dev to unlock our bootloader on the verizon version, where all other USA cellular providers allow htc dev to unlock their bootloaders verizon does not.

Verizon is the largest cellular provider in the USA so there are a lot of customers in the USA with verizon htc 10's that need to be bootloader unlocked.

Why we need bootloader unlocked for hTC 10 Verizon since it can be s-off by xtc2clip and flash twrp regardless bootloader locked or not

The Verizon version of the HTC 10 CANNOT be set S-OFF with the XTC2CLIP. That is the problem.

In order to set S-OFF on the HTC 10 with the CLIP, you MUST first unlock the bootloader, in order to install TWRP. With Verizon, this is NOT possible.

Hopefully the people at XTC2CLIP will find another way to get actual HTC keys, which actually bypasses the security, without having to use htcdev.com. This is what we were able to do with previous phones, when the clip had actual HTC keys ( somehow... )

Keep working at it guys, maybe someday you'll find a way to acquire real keys again. That's what everyone with a clip hopes for.

It would be nice if you found a way to revert between the old keys, and new keys, and have a method to go back & forth, since the HTC keys have changed with the release of the 10, and the keys are not interchangeable between old and new phones.

Starting bootloader unlock procedure
Phone detected, reading token...
Token detected successfully
Sending flash unlocktoken "C:\Program Files\XTC 2 Tool\\unlocktoken_FA657BN03862.bin"
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)... OKAY
writing 'unlocktoken'... (bootloader) flash unlocktoken
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] : /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/frp
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X01, enable unlock
FAILUnlockToken Verify Fail!!
FAILED (remote: UnlockToken Verify Fail!!)
Execution time is 1(s)
Error: The unlock token was not accepted by the phone. Try to re-calculate it again.

On the Verizon htc 10 which Verizon is the largest cellular provider in the USA, they removed the oem bootloader unlock feature from the settings so we have no way to select to unlock the bootloader and with the bootloader locked there is no root access to be able to s-off with the xtc2clip.

We need the bootloader unlocked with root then the xtc2clip will s-off it. The other versions of the htc 10 all have the bootloader unlock feature supported its only the verizon htc 10 that does not. This is a big deal here in the USA because Verizon is the largest cellular provider with the most subscribers so yes the most htc 10's here in the USA are the Verizon version. All other htc 10 versions here are supported just not the most used version here the Verizon one...
