Shot in the dark, but we had someone bring a pocket pc in for repair with the same fault.
Turned out that he'd turned the backlight off by holding the power button in too long to switch the pda off.
Switched the PDA on, pressed and held the power button..Backlight on.
I know it's a slim chance, but in this case it was simply user error.

Thanks Blartiartfast,

I've tried it already . It was droped in water and now the backlight doesn't work, so I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner for 20 mins but it's still the same .

Would it be possible to flash these ? I have the sync station off it, could I use that for flashing ?

Any advice is welcome.

TIA

BR

Yes you can flash these very easy with the USB sync station. Think there is a link to the official O2 firmware page from the O2 web site, failing that goto xda-developers.com. There are links to firmware pages there. I flashed my XDA11s with the Qtek firmware, and the unit is a much better device now.
Don't think that will cure your problem though, but I guess it won't hurt to try.
