Red face 5100 power on by itself when battrey is inserted...

hi mates.

got this 5100 which had the power switch literally removed due to use and found it running around in the casing when i opened it up.

thought it was an piece of cake... just soldered it back and as soon as battrey has been inserted it powered on by itself. Used another switch just in case and it still did the same.

Now i had such a problem with a 6600 and someone mentioned that there maybe a problem with a UEM track that goes directly from the resistors under the switch.

Is it the same here?

thanks for any help

I suggest to change the power switch with a new one and also check the capacitors-resistors near the power switch.
Always works for me

5100

Here you go.

be sure to use a new power switch and check for bad solderings etc.
You may need to resolder these parts
