When you take the old hagar off, brade the solder balls, off the pcb using thin copper brade (can get it from maplin £1.49). Then get a new hagar, and place it down onto the pcb, using BGA rework flux, (maplin £4.79 ish) Line the hagar up with the 2 red lines on the pcb board, then apply your hot air station (you'll see the hagar begin to bubble, dont worry, its meant too) after bubbling dies down, then let to cool for 1 min. thanks |

Be very cautious, All you need is a Bga Stencil, GOOD quality flux and solder balls Alternativly, You can use solder paste, Still gives the same end result... Ensure that you source a really good quality solder paste, There are lots of cheap rubbish available, That makes a bad job Last edited by Gadget; 05-04-2004 at 18:51. |

It is ideal for "sticking" the parts on the board and then solder them. Also check out the Microprint low temp melt solder paste (which has a melt temp about 179C) http://www.warton-metals.co.uk/small...dept.asp?id=13 http://www.warton-metals.co.uk/small...dept.asp?id=10 |
