Member: 947561 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 14,053 | I think if is in project to modify the PCB of cyclone is to consider this.. If is added this modify to obtain the 9V from a 5V external source we can use the same source to give power to the fone on the Vbatt. Using a power module like the NEO_49 one it will be powered by a stable 5V power supply solving all the APE problems.. This two modify together coul make of Cyclone the most reliable BOX adding stability in powering the mobile and speed in the flash operation just using only one external power supply 5V 1A. The only problem left open is the BSI value but this one can be easy solved using Good cable or the Cyclone Cable set when out.. no roblem of course for who is using a UFC. BR Alex |

Member: 348680 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1,273 | Hi to all, i think, there is some alternatives an some things to consider: - Most of power supply issues are related to 5V provided by USB port are related to bad quality PC power supply, most motherboard take the power from 5VSB (stand-by power) for USB ports, and many other ICīs and if it is not good quality you can have troubles - The power delivered to the Phone is taken from USB port via LM1950T (U3 in Cyclone PCB) it is a switch 750mA continuous 1.4A peak. It`s like Neo_49 power module. Cyclone team, maybe can: - Provide the box with a cable like is used in some external 2.5" HDD cages: it have 2 USB A conectors, 1 with te 4 wires, the other only +5V and GND, and 1 USB B (box conector) it is to can use more power. - Provide the box with an 5V 2A switching power supply like the PSM11R-050 from PHIHONG TECHNOLOGY CO LTD (UL listed E127643) adding a switching step-up converter like MiH`09 but with SMD MC34063 in a daugtherboard (you can contiunes using actual PCB) to obtain the 9V for VPP and not take Power from USB, i think this is the best way to solve both troubles: VPP & Local mode- power suply to phone. But it increase the cost of the Box. BR Sorry my bad eng. Last edited by ptt; 06-05-2009 at 23:21. |

Member: 18876 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 27 | I just tested a flashing speed with and without Vpp connected. IT SEEMS MY HW REVISION OF CYCLONE DOES'N HAVE VPP PIN (pin 9) CONNECTED !!! Only to capacitor C60 (0,1uF) and from it nowhere !!! For proper work is need to connect a small wire as is on picture (yellow colour). (just look bellow on pics) |

but you need find "R53" field and make cross on it (or put 0R) resistor | |
