1. There was not any changes on unlocking part of software from v22
2. You STILL can use older software even with updated box firmware, just new models added will not work and report not supported.
3. I supose there is some hardware/pcb problems with this 6300 who not worked. Try to solder some pads over testpoints pcb, or try to inspect with an microscope testpoints areas befor any soldering on this for any damages on pcb on this areas.
