I have changed imei in a 8210 and i got a chksum error but i fixed that, but the probblem is that the phone checks the chksums with mad2 memmory so phone keeps restarting because internal prog dosnt boot properly then. Member: 3631 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | For 6210 : Well changing the "normal" Imei is no problem. Changing it and fixing the first eeprom checksum works. And it does find Network. But only text-imei is changed. But when the real Imei is changed (Securityimei we call) phone doesn't find any network at all. Same is the MCU section after 0x330101 (in fact : 0x130101 + 0x200000). Changing it and whopps no network. There is a little checksum at 0x200038 right after the first MCU Checksum and its start- and endaddress. These are four bytes. I think this checksum is the main problem. Fixing it and the phone will find network i suppose. Maybe you can find how the checksum is calculated. Right now i'm running my analysis tool finding if it is a simple 8,16 or 32 bit checksum. Cya, Viper BJK |

Than you can repair any damaged nokia!!!! Just upload full backup from other phone, change imei back to original and it should work. cause cobba is checking only on imei number. Isn't this??????? |

Member: 3631 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Just studied the securityimei section. I'm for 100 percent sure that there is a checksum extra for the securityimei standing directly after it. But got no clues how it is calculated. Cya, Viper BJK |

Member: 3165 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | The NSE-OIC by PRO changes the "Cosmetic IMEI" but not the real IMEI. It wont affect the network performance but it also cannot be used to unblock cellphones that are barred from the network(stolen). Since Cyberdog mentioned that using nokiatool it does show the changed IMEI, but, it also shows the real/unchanged IMEI on top. Using *#92702689#, it will show the changed IMEI, but using *#06#, the real IMEI will show up (this is what we really want to change). Regards, aCe |
