Member: 4975 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 612 | Signal Drop Solution for 6210 for ages losing its signal all the time. The problems i had was the signal, would just drop to nothing. Also during a call if you moved the phone around, the signal would break up. I have sussed out the cause of it now. On the back of the phone is a antenna socket (With a rubber bung in it). This socket has a changeover type thing in it which disconnects, the internal antenna when you plug something into it. The problem on my phone was the changover part playing up. As i never use the socket i just soldered a thin piece of wire, to the top and bottom pins on the antenna socket and it cured all my problems If you have a look at the attached picture, you will see two highlighted points with a red dot. You need to solder a thin piece of wire to link these two points. Keep the wire as thin as possible and remember, to use a small soldering iron. It is very easy to f**k, the phone up if you poke the soldering iron in the wrong place. All the little surface mount components have a habit of falling off, the pcb if you get too close to them. Thanks to Dave Schwantzdownload solution and picture Last edited by schwantz; 03-17-2002 at 07:25. |
