DKU-5 cable emulator? (Nokia 3220) - GSM-Forum

There is some data on nokia 3220 that i would like to back up but i dont have the original cable for that (as much as I figured out it should be either DKU-5 or CA-42). I searched the net for info on those cables and i found out that Nokia 3220 does NOT have usb connectivity but relies on usb-to-serial converters that are inside the dku-5 cable. I figured that i can use the good-old cable that is used for unlocking or flashing older phones that is based on MAX232 and plug it in serial COM port. On phone side I will be using pins #6 as Rx, #7 as Tx and pin #8 as GND. Later I would be using regular NOKIA PC Suite (version 6.83 at the moment of writing) Am I missing something here? Has anyone tried this setup before or am I going to uncharted all by myself here?

Ok, I guess people are still passed out from hollydays as there are no answers yet :P . I'm crossing my fingers and hope not to burn the phone right away or do come other catastrophic damage...
