3310/8210/8250 water damage can't switch on but - GSM-Forum

help: 8210/8250/3310 water damage can't switch on but when i put changer it charge and charging bar appear but can't switch on or power on, flash with full flash. but still no luck....... i change power switch, clean with thinner, put flux with some ic like hagar, crystal, ccont, cobba, mad2..etc. then heat with hot-air.. but no luck. anyone can help me to solve this problem. sorry for my english.

Hello
For this situation you have to check around to sure what's wrong with your phone , for first take out the main board and put it on the test jig , connect the power supply then use scope to check
26 MHZ TCVCXO and 13 MHZ CPU clock , then chcek CCONT if it has 5.v in , if it don't has 26 MHZ generated you must to change the 26 M TCVCXO,if it don't have 13 MHZ cpu clock ,you have to change Hangar and by the way I don't recommand to reflow the I.Cs rebuild the soldering ball will be much better to ensure that your I.C are without bad conntact ...etc.. goodluck!

I had the same prob with a 3310 it fell down the toilet and would not switch on, i left it for a couple of days and just switched it on for curiosity and it came on, only was that the signal had gone.

something is wrong.
If TCVCXO doesn't work then phone doesn't show charhing bar because CPU is updating the charging bar.

I think it is line problem.in 3310 there is a diode near ccont which connected to the near the power switch.There are 1 resistor and 1 capacitor pair.1 cm below power switch and right side. Measure this line whether or not short circuit.It must be short circuit.If it doesn't solder a wire from this diode to this circuit.

Yes, you are right nightxyz there is an I.C right side of CPU is the charging controler if it's short circuit , it will show changing bar, but what I mentioned just for the normal water fall or damaged phone repairing

All you have done is connect pin E2 of CPU to V360, I have repair many phone like that.

It just depense on the model like 3310 use the external RAM and 810/8250 are using CPU intenal RAM .

IF phone showing running bar after you plug your charger,
it mena, 50% you get lucky , must parts ok!

now, you test phone. if you have test jig, good.
if not, ok.. open phone, put a 10K ohm (103) resistor between BSI to GND, then give 4.2 V to phone.

then VB+ put a 100 ohm resistor , to connect to Btemp pin for 1 sec . your phone must power up.

try to press key 3 6 9 # first, look at those key working or not !
if not, MCU line E2 this pin has problem or PCB link cut !

then you go to check R374 and R118, it must have 3.7V , if not, check V360 , it line come from MCU ROW 4, to UI key 3 6 9 # then V360, then R374 , then power switch !

you are RIGHT

please also check Flash ROM and RAM power supply .

when you go to flash 3310 or 8210 phone, almost all NOKIA DCT3 phone, PC have to send 2 set code to MCU, then MCU will put it on RAM, and RUN it .

This RAM at 8210 , it come together in D210 (flash rom 16M*16/ RAM 2M*16 ), i been remove flash rom, and try flash phone. Wintesla report "EXT. RAM Fail" , then i will know CPU working !

it is becasue, we do not know in CPU side or flash rom side which one fault, so i always remove flash rom before i remove CPU
