Does anyone knows how to troubleshoot a phone at all? PLease share post here - GSM-Forum

whenever a phone has no power or no network or has problems with it, the question is how do we know where to start or how to start and what can we do about it or what to do??

For example i always had phones with no power and the first thing i check is whether it is water damage if not then i will flash the phone but after that if flashing is not sucessful what do i need to do next,change the pa. But how can we check that the pa is faulty?

do you have nokia service equipment? nokia flash prommar, gsm test head, open jigs, flash jigs, nokia programs? this gear really helps. if not then your restricted majorly.
any way simple methods check for liquid ingress, is the battery any good? check for physical dammage, solder bridges. force flash software, clean phone with isopropal alcohol, or other cleaners. you can reflow if the phone looks as new. if none of this works then advanced methods;
check if phone draws power. does it turn on when you put it on 12 volts? local mode?, check for physical dammage. try and force flash in 12 volt power supply, reflow upp, flash ic (depending on the model), resolder battery contacts, power switch, check capacitors from battery terminal. if these dont work then your phone must be really dead. you can then replace upp, power amp etc. theres a few things to check.

How can i buy nokia service equipment? what do u mean by 12 volt? and what is solder bridges
