help integrated bluetooth

hi, you excuse for my English,
I have a notebook presario R4031EA with the integrated bluetooth "HP integrated module with bluetooth wireless."
I have tried to install the v.5.0.1.1200, but at the end of the istallazione, the pc tells that the license for this device is not valid.
It's possible to upgrade drive this peripheral? thanks

Unfortunetly it needs a patch in order to work with other non Broadcom based dongles..

I've sent an e-mail to Phantasm4489 asking for help.. hopefully he'll make a patch for us :)

I tried it today with the 1200er Version. I´ve de-installed the 800er Driver Paket and I´ve installed the 1200er without Patch for my samsung, but it doesn´t work for my. I get the license error. Now I use the "older" 800er and it works for me further...

karamelo 01-14-2006 00:34

He're the patch, since nobody had it, i did one...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GBW7GLHW

It's for win32 only.

Look at this post before installing, you MAY need to change the svcpack.ini file:

Added patch to 5.0.1.1200 thank you Karamelo,
and Belkin drivers.

ktyak 01-15-2006 09:23

Thanks for the Win 32 patch Karamelo.

Not sure why but I thought the 5.0.1.1200 was for windows XP 64 as well. Is this the case or should I look else where ?

Kt.

Bcalin 01-15-2006 12:31

Tried 5.0.1.1200 on my desktop with both my CSR 0A12-0001 (Epox BT-DG06B (Bluetooth V2 +EDR ) and Epox BT-DG07A (Bt v1.2 ) ) and appears to be running ok.
Anyone knows what speed can i achieve in a BT network (2 laptops BT-enabled) ? I saw a commercial that 2x BT v1.2 approx 45KBits/s and 2xBT v2 EDR 135Kbits/s . I hope they are very wrong !
Anyway , MANY MANY thanks for the drivers&patch.
(Damn Epox , comes with Toshiba drivers)

karamelo 01-15-2006 14:46

It has the win32 and win64 version but i only patched the win32...

corelx 01-15-2006 15:34

Hi!

It's working fine, thanx karamelo :)

adisor19 01-15-2006 18:51

First of all, a BIG thank you for the patch !

I noticed that the svcpack.ini file already contained an entry for the btins.dll file.

In the provided patch, this entry has been omitted and therefor, it might cause a problem with some BT services.

I have added the entry for it as follows :

SourceName5=btins.dll
DestinationName5=btins.dll
DestinationFolder5=2
DestinationSubFolder5=
OS5=15
CopyOnlyIfExists1=Y

I would suggest you guys should update the patch with this included entry.

After installing it, it works perfectly :)

Adi

nameless_sin 01-15-2006 19:05

Can I save only the win 32 folder in the zip and delete all other files for the installation? win32 is 40 mb only

64 Bit version?

Hi all,

Pardon me for being a beggar, but I'd really like to see the 64-bit versions of these patched too. I'm more than happy to help, and am able to do hex editing if I can be told what registers to edit.

Thanks in advance!

karamelo 01-16-2006 17:10

@ShugyoSystems

If you know how to hex edit just compare the previous version (5.0.1.801 for instance) patch with it's original files and apply the same changes to the files in this version..

Bcalin 01-16-2006 20:38

I'm struggeling for 2 days and nothing !

ICS . That is my problem.
I bought 2 USB BT dongles & set-up a connection between 2 PCs

PC1 :
-Ethernet card : DHCP through cable modem
-Bluetooth dongle : IP : 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
no DNS , no DEFAULT GATEWAY .
PC2 :
-Bluetooth dongle : IP 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS : 192.168.0.1
(tried again with DNS received by PC1 from cable modem ,still no result)

I want both PCs to have access through my cable modem , which has a public ip .
Ping form PC1 to PC2 goes well
Ping from PC2 to PC1 goes well
PC1 HAS internet connection
PC2 doesn't :( WHY ? WHAT DO I MISS ?
(I have shared the PC1's internet connection as described in ICS help )

I tried changing drivers , toshiba / widcomm . No effect.
By the way i've performed some speed tests :
PC1 to PC2 , BT connected :
on Toshiba drivers 66.95 KBYTES/s (one 150mil bytes - file)
on Widcomm drivers(5.0.1.1200) : 69-73 KBYTES/s (1x 4MB file )

naidoo33 01-16-2006 23:42

Why not use bittorrent with the file?

If i understand correctly, you're trying to share your internet connection to more then 1 extra computer by using the Windows connection sharing. I'm not sure that's a good idea.. if you really want to use bluetooth tech for your networking needs (why? when WiFI is way faster and cheap too), then you should get a bluetooth access point. I think Belkin makes one. It will save you the hassle of Windows conenction sharing and i heard it works pretty well.

Again, i would recommend you use WiFi instead of Bluetooth..

License Error

Thanks for the latest version however we need a patch for the license.
I get the License.Dat error (2) when I try to install this version.

I am currently running the 4.0.1.2101 without any problems.

TIA

Yes, if you would take the time to read the thread, you would notice someone made a patch..

OKAUSSIE 01-18-2006 16:27

I installed the 143mb version (that has the patch in it). Now I get Problem with Software License (3).

I am trying to upgrade from version 4.0.1.2101. Should I remove it and perform a clean install?????

OKAUSSIE 01-18-2006 17:27

I fixed it. It seems Widcomm does not like to UPGRADE CURRENT DRIVERS.
It worked for me by uninstalling the previous version and doing a clean install.

Bill

damenace 01-19-2006 12:41

Hi,

I finally got it to work but have one issue left: I always have to enter the PIN for my headset, everytime I connect. Why won't the Widcomm Stack save the pin?

OKAUSSIE 01-19-2006 15:36

It should come up with the option to recognize your device everytime without the PIN. There should be a checkmark for it on the screen after you key in the PIN on the PC screen.

Goodluck

"Bluetooth High Quality Audio"...?

When I installed my Bluetooth Adapter with the Widcomm 5.0.1.1200 software, it installed "Bluetooth Audio" & "Bluetooth High Quality Audio" devices into the "Sound, Video, & Game Controllers" category under Device Manager...

Does this mean that my Adapter is AD2P compatible, or does it just install these devices as a general rule regardless of whether the adapter can support it or not?

Is there any definitive way to tell whether the adapter supports AD2P without actually having a pair of headphones that use AD2P to test with?

As a general rule, if you adapter is at least BT 1.2, it should support A2DP.

Thank you for reply.
Around here , wi-fi (802.11b) is about 800.000lei ($26).
By the time i thought about a lan and ICS i had already 1 BT dongle.
So i had to decide : 2xWifi PCI cards (2x $26 ) or another BT dongle (1x $16 ) ? . I've chosen BT.
BT AP form Belkin (and others) are VERY expensive (vs Wi-Fi)

I succeded in what i was doing (sharing a cable-modem-internet-connection to another PC besides my own PC-gateway).
I wasn't paying attention to the widcomm's drivers' options :
-> Advanced configuration ->Local Services -> Network access ,
"Allow other devices to access the Internet/LAN via this computer"
-> and another thing , Zone Alarm 6 , was running on my gateway , and did not allow traffic towards Internet from PC 2. I've tried multiple options , but nothing . So I've changed it with Kerio Personal Firewall (and i have enabled its "gateway mode" )
Now my internet connection ( <= 512Kbps) is slightly below my BT connection between computers (<=584Kbps)
Browsing is running really smooth on both comps.
Thank you again to all of you for making my piece of hardware (more) useful.
(Widcomm driver - about 11 profiles , Toshiba drivers - 4 profiles )

Hey, glad i can help a brother out :)

I think you're the only person i know that shares their net conection through BT instead of Wi-FI but if it works well for you, that's great. I'm curious what happens with the speed if you use other BT devices at the same time for example : a BT headset or a mouse. Does the speed drop alot ?

Adi

Shouldn't the last line be

and this be appended to the new svcpack and not to the beginning (as I have foolishly done)

Yoou're right. ooops on my part on this one.. and yes, it should be appended at the end.

I thinks this file is only usefull when doing an upgrade from a previous version of Widcomm.. not so sure.

Does anyone have the original svpack.ini file so we can compare ? (i erased mine..)

Adi

pilotart 01-21-2006 05:39

original svcpak

1 Attachment(s)
Changed ".ini" to ".txt" to attach. This was a "Read-Only" in the svcpak folder inside the Win32 folder. There was another svcpak folder with a SvcPak.ini (for a firmware flash?).

Replaced Dell TM300 with a TM350 which needs a firmware flash (that Dell includes with its latest Toshiba Stack) for Widcomm to recognise as 2.0 instead of 1.2.

I had removed old Stack, installed TM350 module and installed the 1200 (using patched Win32\Inst.exe) and it did GPS and IntelliMouse but kept demanding "pairing" for iogear printer adapter.

Then did the Dell provided Flash and that trashed the 1200 and it would not install again (no MS Stack, but same hang).

802 Stack installed fine, then found "no spool" on printer, it had been altered in "Services" from "Local System Account" to some unknown "This account" (NT Authority???) and some unknown password entered.

:D :) 802 was so easy and  1200

Lugus Thierfeld 01-21-2006 16:17

What are the real differences between 802 and 1200? Is it worth all the trouble? Can anyone report the 802 working with jabra bt200 headset? I am having real problem with making it work with the 1200 version (viz here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=265093 ). Thanx for any reactions.

Phantasm4489 01-21-2006 18:59

I was able to get both the 32bit and 64bit versions of 5.0.1.1200 working by making a new license.dat file. Simply Replace (before starting the installation) the license.dat in the installation archive with this one:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D2Y5W1LU

It worked for me on XP (32bit), XP X64 (64 bit), Vista (64 bit) on all 3 of my bluetooth dongles

1. Generic CSR with Bluetooth 1.2
2. Generic CSV with bluetooth 1.1
3. Microsoft bluetooth dongle

Let me know how you get on.

I can install Widcomm without any problems using your new license.dat, but after rebooting my PC I get a message telling that it is a 102 days trial version.

My adapter is a "Silicon Wave Bluetooth Device" BT1.2 dongle (firmware 1879)

Thank you anyway ;)

Nope,

this version does not work with HP bluetooth headphones (FA303A)

Generally, this version DOES NOT work with most of A2DP profile devices....

yep I get that too, but 102 days should be plenty of time to sort that out. Also there will probably be a new version out by then anyway.

I'm having some x64 issues. This is my first time trying to get it to work on an x64 installation (32bit was fine). If I run setup and/or msi in the "root" folder, it installs in the "Program Files (x86)" directory (is this correct?) but after installation the bluetooth system tray icon says "no devices detected" despite the device showing up in device manager. I can not run either the setup or msi file in the win64 directory without the error message "please execute 'setup.exe' for install or upgrade". Thanks in advance for the advice.
