I installed the 143mb version (that has the patch in it). Now I get Problem with Software License (3).

I am trying to upgrade from version 4.0.1.2101. Should I remove it and perform a clean install?????

I fixed it. It seems Widcomm does not like to UPGRADE CURRENT DRIVERS.
It worked for me by uninstalling the previous version and doing a clean install.

Hi,

I finally got it to work but have one issue left: I always have to enter the PIN for my headset, everytime I connect. Why won't the Widcomm Stack save the pin?

It should come up with the option to recognize your device everytime without the PIN. There should be a checkmark for it on the screen after you key in the PIN on the PC screen.

Goodluck

"Bluetooth High Quality Audio"...?

When I installed my Bluetooth Adapter with the Widcomm 5.0.1.1200 software, it installed "Bluetooth Audio" & "Bluetooth High Quality Audio" devices into the "Sound, Video, & Game Controllers" category under Device Manager...

Does this mean that my Adapter is AD2P compatible, or does it just install these devices as a general rule regardless of whether the adapter can support it or not?

Is there any definitive way to tell whether the adapter supports AD2P without actually having a pair of headphones that use AD2P to test with?

As a general rule, if you adapter is at least BT 1.2, it should support A2DP.

Again, i would recommend you use WiFi instead of Bluetooth..

Thank you for reply.
Around here , wi-fi (802.11b) is about 800.000lei ($26).
By the time i thought about a lan and ICS i had already 1 BT dongle.
So i had to decide : 2xWifi PCI cards (2x $26 ) or another BT dongle (1x $16 ) ? . I've chosen BT.
BT AP form Belkin (and others) are VERY expensive (vs Wi-Fi)

I succeded in what i was doing (sharing a cable-modem-internet-connection to another PC besides my own PC-gateway).
I wasn't paying attention to the widcomm's drivers' options :
-> Advanced configuration ->Local Services -> Network access ,
"Allow other devices to access the Internet/LAN via this computer"
-> and another thing , Zone Alarm 6 , was running on my gateway , and did not allow traffic towards Internet from PC 2. I've tried multiple options , but nothing . So I've changed it with Kerio Personal Firewall (and i have enabled its "gateway mode" )
Now my internet connection ( <= 512Kbps) is slightly below my BT connection between computers (<=584Kbps)
Browsing is running really smooth on both comps.
Thank you again to all of you for making my piece of hardware (more) useful.
(Widcomm driver - about 11 profiles , Toshiba drivers - 4 profiles )

Hey, glad i can help a brother out

I think you're the only person i know that shares their net conection through BT instead of Wi-FI but if it works well for you, that's great. I'm curious what happens with the speed if you use other BT devices at the same time for example : a BT headset or a mouse. Does the speed drop alot ?

Adi

P.S. 800 000 lei = 26$USD?? parca s-ar fi devalorizat leul anu asta, nu ?!

In the provided patch, this entry has been omitted and therefor, it might cause a problem with some BT services.

I have added the entry for it as follows :

SourceName5=btins.dll
DestinationName5=btins.dll
DestinationFolder5=2
DestinationSubFolder5=
OS5=15
CopyOnlyIfExists1=Y

I would suggest you guys should update the patch with this included entry.

After installing it, it works perfectly

Adi
Shouldn't the last line be

CopyOnlyIfExists5=Y

and this be appended to the new svcpack and not to the beginning (as I have foolishly done)

Yoou're right. ooops on my part on this one.. and yes, it should be appended at the end.

I thinks this file is only usefull when doing an upgrade from a previous version of Widcomm.. not so sure.

Does anyone have the original svpack.ini file so we can compare ? (i erased mine..)

Arrow original svcpak

Changed ".ini" to ".txt" to attach. This was a "Read-Only" in the svcpak folder inside the Win32 folder. There was another svcpak folder with a SvcPak.ini (for a firmware flash?).

Replaced Dell TM300 with a TM350 which needs a firmware flash (that Dell includes with its latest Toshiba Stack) for Widcomm to recognise as 2.0 instead of 1.2.

I had removed old Stack, installed TM350 module and installed the 1200 (using patched Win32\Inst.exe) and it did GPS and IntelliMouse but kept demanding "pairing" for iogear printer adapter.

Then did the Dell provided Flash and that trashed the 1200 and it would not install again (no MS Stack, but same hang).

802 Stack installed fine, then found "no spool" on printer, it had been altered in "Services" from "Local System Account" to some unknown "This account" (NT Authority???) and some unknown password entered.

802 was so easy and 1200

What are the real differences between 802 and 1200? Is it worth all the trouble? Can anyone report the 802 working with jabra bt200 headset? I am having real problem with making it work with the 1200 version (viz here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=265093 ). Thanx for any reactions.

I was able to get both the 32bit and 64bit versions of 5.0.1.1200 working by making a new license.dat file. Simply Replace (before starting the installation) the license.dat in the installation archive with this one:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D2Y5W1LU

It worked for me on XP (32bit), XP X64 (64 bit), Vista (64 bit) on all 3 of my bluetooth dongles

1. Generic CSR with Bluetooth 1.2
2. Generic CSV with bluetooth 1.1
3. Microsoft bluetooth dongle

Let me know how you get on.
