I bought a new unlocked motorola L6 phone and it accepts my sims card but when I turn it on it says NO SERVICE what is wrong?

my moto c350 is say "contact service provider" how can i get rid of this?? an how can i unlock it, cuz each i try to enter a code it says "emergency calls only" some help nuh pleas!!
