i have had the same problems with r220 which when the antenna is out it calls but doesent when its replaced
the solution has been openiong the phone and reheating the aetial contact and pulling it out and the phone works well try it it works magic

I change PA with soldering station for me it works 100%.Try it with a good PA

No service is never software problem Don't waste your time flashing ****.Its hardware.Limited service is eith er software or hardware but no service needs a chand if the power amplifier PA.

Dont waste your time FOLKS !!! These phones are about 1...1.5 year of use with such RF problems!!!! It is Case problem -shielding !!!!!Like was old Ericson 628 models!!!!
Plastic metalic cover is going bad!!!!
It belongs to phones who was not in the water and was not mechanically damaged !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
