T610 Water Damage

Ok my son dropped his phone t610 in some water (Plonker) but said it was shallow and he got all of the water out etc, now the phone works with the power cable plugged in but if the batterry is inserted with no external power it just flashes on and of, whats youre guys thoughts did he do damage to the battery or the phone itself, I have been advised that it could do with a sonic bath.

Anyway thought I would ask you knowledgable guys whats your thoughts on this is it a gonner or salvageable ??

Regards

Aardie

Hi there
Have you tried to take it apart and clean it with alcohol? I have noticed that a very "dirty" phone doesn't get real clean with sonic baths but it helps to get the most of the dirt away from underneath the components.

Have rescued a few phones that suffered from waterdamage in this way. If you don't get it to work, be sure that you have disassembled the phone so the workshop won't notice and that you also clean it real good.

This is if you still have it under warranty then you can always claim that it just stopped working after that you have, let's say, charged it...
