nec not playing mp3 music and mid files. - GSM-Forum

i used nec cd that came with the phone to upload mp3 and midi file to the phone. but i came with the error message that nec cannot play the mp3 file.?? any idea why.. it was 24 kbps mp3 file later i changed that file to normal 128 kbps but then still it was unable to play the mp3 file. when i upload the midi file the mobile gave error message as it was unable to play the midi file coz the file size was more than 20 kb :O.. i find it amzingly disgusting.. which mobile is unable to play 20 kilobyte file.. strange. so any idea.. why and any solution to this problem....

try to compress the files, files must be in wma or mp3 format and less than 5 mb in size

could you read the message.. mid file is in kilobyte not mega byte. and mp3 is 4 mb 44khz and not 24 khz 700 KB not mb

compress what are you takling about what do i have to compress.. do i have to compress the midi file.. i dont think så and as för mp3... what do you mean compress mp3.. mp3 depends upn the bitrate.. i have normal 128 kbps. mp3 file with 4 mb i use lame to change bitrate..

My 3 friends also got 616 but none of them face any problem as u r mentioning. Its a very good set for us for 47 pounds + 5 pounds for unlocking

well it has v17 (firmware.) is it for the reason? you if its upgraded into v21 eller higher.. could it be solved? just a wild haunch..
