Red face TUTORIAL: Recover memory card password on s60 phones without formatting

Before you start this you will need to have your s60 3rd ed. phone hacked by either HelloOX or HelloCarbide, and with Rompatcher installed. Goto symbian-freak.com to find out how to hack your s60 phone, or look for guides in the applications section in this forum.

The reason for having a hacked phone is to access a file containing the password which is stored in the private part of the phone.

You also need X-Plore which you can get here The Attach thing wasn't working hence why i've posted a link

Once all that is done. Run ROMPatcher and disable caps:

Run X-Plore and wait till you see a navigational structure press 0 and tick the 4 boxes 'Show Hidden Files', 'Show ROM Drives', 'Show RAM Drives', 'Show system files/folders':

Goto C:\sys\data and you should see the file 'mmcstore':

Press 3 to open it the inbuilt hex-editor and you should see your password in the right column. In my case, my password is 'felix' for my name:

Successfuly tested on n73, not sure what other phones it will work on, but if it works for you give me a shout =]

Felix
