Unhappy Restoring EEPROM on T10s with ponyprog

Hi!

I've just finished my 24cxx programmer (I2c bus interface at www.lancos.com using I'm external power from a 9V battery to a 7805 regulator). So I opened up my T10s located the chip 24C256, placed the clip over the chip and tried to upload the original EEPROM. But after a while ponyprog says "Device not responding!". But I'm 100% sure that my interface works, cause I've tested it with another EEPROM chip.

The connector I'm using is "Pomona SOIC-clip model 5250". I bought it to make sure that I didn't have to desolder the chip. Cause the chip is a small surface mounted 8pin chip.

However nothing works...

Has anyone tried to reprogram the chip, using a SOIC-clip?
Or do I have to desolder the chip from the phone to program it?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I have programmed my chip externally.
On the first few attempts I got the same message, I thought that the interface I made was no good but I then changed the chip setting in ponyprog from 24xx auto to 24256 and it worked.
try it and see.
please let us know if it helps

I've just restored my EEPROM with PonyProg.
I'm using EasyI2C-interface at www.lancos.com and a SOIC-clip(so I don't need to desolder the chip).

Now my T10s is fully working and uppgrade to T18s :-)

Thanks everyone at the forum for all help and especially "Dark Lemming". Your unlocking guide on your webpage is excellent, keep up the good work.

rnx but it's not my webpage; it's Prodigal's page. i only gave the topic "revive semi-dead t10" to him. soon i will post software and instructions for reviving any dead Axxxx, Txx and Rxxx just by cable, without needing to open and voiding warranty. i've tested it today. please wait until tomorrow so i can test it with other totally dead phones.

regards

In some case ( some models of phone) you need a full 5v for pin 8.
A 78L05 powered by a 9-12 v wall transformer or a 9V battery give a good 5v.

The only pins you need to connect are
pin 5
pin 6
pin 7
pin 8
because pin 1;2;3;4 are linked to pin 7 under the Chip.
I'm using the full SI-Prog
