Is it possible to upgrade to newer firmware with the Siemens datacable? I saw a post about someone who had modified his, but cant find it now.. Please help..

It's possible to upgrade with the original cable only if you have the SyncStation.

How come? what is the difference ? It must be possible to upgrade without the syncstation, maybe with some modding of the cable.. I believe that only the pin´s 1, 5 and 6 are used when upgrading, can I then remove the other ones ?

Sorry,I don' t know exactly why. I just tried in both ways.
I think that there is something concerning the Max232 chip and auto-ignition.

There are instruction and schemes on how to build a cable at this link (only italian language):

Sorry, but I don't know why, but I can do everything with my original data cable! I can do more than with my no name cable. UniSiemens everytime stops at 99%. With my original cable it works! And V_Klay, too!! With my no name cable it stops everytime on reading adress ...... With my original cable it works! And its only a data cable! Not a sync station!
