Upgrading to SL6688i - GSM-Forum

I have a SL6688 and want to upgrade it to a 6688i. I knew this may have been discussed many time. But I did not manage to find the link to download the FW and the upgrade instruction in the forum.

Appreciate if some could help. Thanks.

i have searched through the enite siemens sl4x and there are no links to firmware that work. i joined a z-soft yahoo group but i can't find it there either. anyone have a link? gsmschwantz have made it so you need a passwors to download anything and none of my other links work.

your site sounds pretty good but when i go to your homepage, i can't find any links to any of the other pages. is this purposely done or did i miss something?

No, you´re missing a big sign, saying Menu, pass with mouse cursor on it, and menu will open.

Winswup.exe

Wswup32.ini
Wswuplib.dll
Wswupser.dll
Wsw_egol.dll
Wsw_egpl.dll

Do I just run Winswup.exe and everything will be automatic?
Is there anything that I have to note? Something to be careful?
It would be excellent if there are some instructions.
Please pardon me for all these. I am a newbie to upgrade.

@drug_store
sorry, the browser i was using (Opera) doesn't support it but it works in internet explorer. why doesn't Opera view it correctly? it just has the menu button as a picture and nothing happens when i go over it. also it's on the left not in the centre. oh well, i'll just save the siemens page in my favourties. great site though!

Start winswup32, press open and select the *.xbz file.
Config connections and speed
check both pre and post boxes
Press start and start pressing power ON on the phone
but don´t letting him turn on.
Then the program will do everything by himself.

My site it´s build to work under Explorer and to be viewed at 1024 x 768.

The reason that Opera can´t open menu, it´s probably because he doesn´t support java interaction...
Anyway, on explorer or netscape should work fine.

If you have anymore questions about my site, don´t do it here, because mods can get peaced off with us... so contact me by mail, ICQ, MSN, ect...
