Unlocking using WinIMEI 1.16 and no serial port or cable. It really works!!!!

Hi

Like many of you, I have been frustrated trying to unlock my phone with
WinIMEI but I don't have a serial port on my laptop. Well, with a bit
of lateral thinking its not necessary to have one.

The procedure is the same as described in

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=224773

However, what you need to to is download the program from

http://www.virtual-serial-port.com/?rf=vspk&ver=4.8.1

This is a virtual serial port. Do you see where I am heading?
Anyway, I downloaded the trial version, which is enough for one phone
unlock, or as many as you can do in 15 days.

Instead of ramming screwdrivers into the back of your machine etc
just install the program, run it and go to the "port" menu and add a
loopback plug on com1.

Then you just run WinIMEI and follow the procedure on

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=224773

Its just as if you had a loopback serial cable attached.

It really works.

By the way, I unlocked my Z500v without using Easystudio
but thats up to you.

Hope this helps.

Jason

Feedback

Has anyone found this at all useful? I've had no replies
so I assume the instructions were either perfect or
completely useless.

Comments?
