using zonealarm alone is no use because trojan/adware change their priveledges. try using hijackthis+regcleaner+spybot+kasprsky+firefox. Also arm yourself with a lot of good knowledge on how to protect your computer FROM ITSELF* and FROM INTERNET.

*a lot of software nowadays has internet connectivity with or w/o your knowledge. but the bad is they connect w/o your permission. even some legit software attempts to connect to the net when they are uninstalled. a lot of soft built in m$/xp soft also connects through the net. Even your antivirus/firewall connects through the net and verify its registration. Once you identify those creepy soft, battle is halfway won hopefully..
