bios password on compaq?


hi , i have a compaq armada m700 which is asking for bios password, can anybody help with this?

I dont think there a problem to disable this password.
Here what you should do:

1. Disconnect the AC Power and any external devices

2. Remove Battery Pack(s)

3. Remove any PC Cards

4. Remove Lithium Clock Battery/RTC Battery

5. Wait approximately 5 minutes, then connect the AC Power Supply and restart the computer to clear the password. All units except the Armada1100 will get a "162 System Options not Set" message. Turn off the computer and remove from AC Power.

6. Replace Lithium Clock Battery/RTC Battery

7. Reassemble unit and proceed with troubleshooting procedures.

This is "hard" way, but works 100%.

Also software can reset this password

hi Firecell, thanks for you reply, where would i locate the lithium clock battery/ RTC batt, i checked under keyboard but could not find it.
also how would i be able to do it by software if possible.
