just bought a red box ,got the key file ,but when i want to connect to my pc the soft gives error,im trying to unlock a philips 535xn,i choose fisio 535 though!,just tried a fisio 825 but same problem,i phoned my supplier ,"change your pc" he said!! im happy with my pc,if thats the type of support i get,i will return my red box to him,im using a pentium 850 mhz,tried winxp/98se but as i mentioned i havent had much luck,so please give us few tips.thanx

what error was be given? bad key file? no box connected?

need to know what it was saying also could have been the convertor or cable at fault

when i click on tat it says time out!! other unlocking staff on my pc work fine,ufs2,griffin,se,ust etcthe dongle serial its ok,what else can i do?please

Hi I had same problem with fizo 820 , time out all the time.

I then bought a external powered cable and now it is working good.

thanx for your reply,sorry i gave the name of those software to say that my pc is working ok with those proggies,i didnt mean anything by it,however heres how im connecting it to the red box,i click on the philips commander 2.4 when it opens i then choose philips 535 then i click on tat,b4 that the big red dongle is connected to my serial port,and from there a lead going to my usb port,then the philips lead from the red box to the phone,i keep cheking all the connections they seem to be ok, dont know what else to do to make it work.(the small red connector is not connected anywhere i dont know what is used for)

the cable goes into the little redbox which is attached to the serial port not the Actual RedboX which is attached to the LPT port

from what uve said above it seems your putting the cables into the large RedboX not the little serial one

and thanx both for your help,i think u both maybe wright,cos i never knew(thanx to my no 1uk after sales support!!place)im going to give it a try and will post results,thank u both again,face off where abouts r u? cos im thinking of changing the place i buy my staff from,lousy support they give,du give good support?and after sale service?if so im willing to buy from u.let me know ey.

problem solved with 535,it was the lead!!(i sent the box and the phone to the resaler!!)but problem remains with 2x820, i tried varrious ways,one i clicked on tat,then quickly connected the cable to the phone,it went into the tat mode but no code were read!!,could it be the cable again?when i connect the cable to the phone one starts charging but the other one stays off! another problem i found i have to run philips ver 1,9 then exit and then run 2.14,otherwise the 2.14 gives me lots of error messages,like this programme will be shut down,then run time error. very strange!
