Usually I use Itunes 8.2 for updating Iphone have no problem for many times.
But now I have a problem. The Itunes is stuck in "restoring iphone software..."
And the Iphone stuck in the apple logo. I already downgrade to 2.2 and 2.2.1 but not help. Always stuck in ""restoring iphone software...". But when I disconnect the cable Itune said "IPhone could not be restored. An unknown error (9). Any solution can help this prob?

100% okey orginal usb kaple Change the USB port. and put the usb cable directly in usb port.

Dear All,

Let me tell you my experience with this error.
I unlocked around five iphone 3g with the same routine explained.
But there was one iphone gave me a really hard time

What I did ...
a . I tried that phone on various computers.
b. I used original computer.
c. Install / Re-install the latest itune from apple web site.
d. Simply restored the firmware.
e. Turned off all the firewall and any other blocking softwares.

But the OUTCOME was -ive.

Now can any one explained me.
What is the problem why I'm getting this stupid error.
I did checked the apple troubleshoting section and followed every
thing.

Quick and sensible replies are appreciated.

I did the same way like you do.
- Use another computer
- Download ITunes from the MAlikk gave:
"Just Download From Here
http://www.apple.com/itunes/
And Restore Iphone Without Any Error"
- Download OS3 from ITunes.
- Upgrade & downgrade fimware & iTunes.

But nothing helps.
Before upgrade the IPhone is working well.
Is it still bugs from itunes or OS3?

Anybody have another solution?

i got error 14 and i found out that the ipsw file was somehow currupt. I found out bcos i used redsn0w could not verify it ok.
So I redownloaded another and redsn0w verified it ok, and then iTunes also flashed (restored ok with this new file and all was OK

its hardware issue just check your mother board ,& battery also .first cleane your bord with ip & heat with ****er , after wards check by flashing

guys! This unknown error occurred (23) not fixable yet. All "solutions" like restore in DFU mode or use new version of itunes or new firmware doesnt help. i have fixed over 800 iphones,but no one with error 23, tried everything and no success yet. have three iphones with this error (3g 8gb, 16gb, and one 3gs 16gb)
If somebody know whats ACTUALLY the problem, please post here.

iphone3gs security itself makeing error (apple protect codeing that nobady enlarge codes & unlock Phone with patch)

May be usb sig or id is missing

or

bootrom currupt - flash auth not passed - not booting in flash write mode

while restore in dfu mode + restore mode with old itunes & new itunes old 3.1.2 & new 3.1.3 all combination. same with other pc. 3.1.2 tried when 3.1.3 not arrived. error is same

then itunes give error

my iphone3gs stuck on apple logo & wait symbole rotates then restart & again same
