w380a, can it be converted to W380i - GSM-Forum

I need the phone to work on the 900Mhz band, will flashing the W380a to W380i achieve this ?... the W380a is 850/1800/1900 mhz while the W380i is 900/1800/1900 mhz.

is this a software change or does it also need hardware change ?

has anyone personally done this and it works without problems . Someone is buying the phone to use in a 900 mhz only area. so it would be a costly venture, thus want to be sure.

W380a can by converted to W380i but you need studie more about sonyericsson I converted 3 from Fido to work it in Cuba And ok Full Signal.

Responding a menssage for clearing douds

Well, you download a picture???
in the picture you can see how you can convert this phone to 900 or 850 and invert.
you most use wire when you remove N5704 component.
in case of Z6122 component if this component is damage you must remove and make a jumper. like a picture show, no need remove.
and Z6120 componen must by remplased using a capacitor with range from 15p tested to 22p. here using a wire I not try if you maked and work fine you post your experience.
