yes. The quick way to update the phone is to go to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\
The the directory of the model then GPRS there should be a sfi file.
Copy that file to the mml directory where the loader is
Normally C:\MML\HHFiles\MFI
Then copy and paste the following in a txt file and save it as a bat file

loader -u load SFI-xxx-xxx-xxx
pause
GOTO exit

just make sure the sfi file have the exact name as the one you got earlier which you copied over to your mml directory. That will restore the devices firmware. Always wipe the fone with mml first when you update it

I think it will again lock your bb to the service provider whose flash file you are going to use .
so not advisable keeping if u want unlocked bb

I think it will again lock your bb to the service provider whose flash file you are going to use .

my 9780 was error jvm after water log i wiped it then reflashed [ 9780AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel2647_PL6.6.0.223_A6.0.0.60 0.exe ]with latest version but cannot log in to menu phone screen stuck with not permitted to reverse engineer. pl.. help me out from this. tankz in ad....

first tell us what is the problem that u r facing?
as reinstall and update are 2 different things .

dear all
i have bb9000 dead
i put the battery its shows red led only few second
i connect to computer its shows white display with a image of small battery
no possible update firmware
any solution.............
pls help me

Just recharge battery . It seems like full discharged battery . Any way u mast update ur BB with Loader and begin without battery

firstly wipe your bb os using JL_Cmder and then re upload the os
it should be fine
download from official site for the os
