Ok I've been looking all around the internet for the past few days on how to unlock a 8100 bb perl that is locked into the att network.

I've followed the instructions given to the T, except I use the app loader to install the firmware [as directed with the instructions given by you guys of installing the firmware w.o desktop manager.]

I've installed the OS from T-mobile's site [the carrier I would like to use with the phone] and ATT [the carrier it is locked to] The MFI works flawlessly, and I can install the os easily as well. just I always get stuck with the att os regardless from the source that I have downloaded [from tmo's website too].

Am I doing something wrong? I would really like to get this phone unlocked so that I can use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm going to keep looking in the mean time to find something. If I've explained anything that wasn't clear please let me know.

The bb 8100 that is, always boots into the att locked os regardless from where i've downloaded it [whether I got it from tmo's or atts] I can understand att, but idk why after installing the firmware I got from tmo's website, it doesn't boot into their os version that they have for the pearl.

Sorry if this was redundant, I just wanted it to be clear.

As with the directions provided in the thread, the video was clear and easy with following the steps needed to unlock the bb; however when I underwent the process again, my bb booted into the native att os, despite me downloading it from tmo USA's website. Now when I boot up the phone in boots into att's os for the pearl 8100 and requests a pin code to enter the os with a tmo's sim card attached to it. any possible reason this is still happening? I am reaching my wits end about this, and am growing closer to wanting to throw this phone against a wall than continue on with trying to unlock it
