Member: 295102 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | Thanks for the pinouts itsmesoul! Really appreciate it. I have J.A.F. box with original J.A.F UFC and tried to connect with cable No. 2 as seen on picture below with resistor value of 7.5k but for some reason J.A.F does not see the phone. You mentioned that "MBus line must be connected to both 4 & 5 pins" My question is. Does this cable supports that cross-connection already, or I have to do it manually ??? |

Member: 947561 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 14,053 | You can use for the job the Jig n. 1. Considering the pin 1 of the jig is not connected you can cut it off (i did as well cos help me to understand where is the pin 1 ) then you can make the adaptor using a plug RJ45 and a socked RJ45 (Used a bit of Lan cable and a normal socket easy to find in any computer shop) schematic : Plug RJ45 Socket RJ45 1 ----------------- 2 2 ----------------- 1 4 ----------------- 8 5 -------------- 4 and 5 6 ----------------- 6 this adapter must be used netween the Jig and the UFC Just for the user curiousity the pinouts of the UFC Jig socket RJ 48 are 1 - NC 2 - GND 3 - (F) RX 4 - NC 5 - (F) TX 6 - MBUS 7 - (F) RX2 8 - NC 9 - VPP (only if connected to MT or Genie) 10 - NC BR Alex |

Member: 295102 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | Would anyone please provide the RJ45 (not RJ48) pinouts for UFC and JAF cable ? I modded my cable as follows: Code: TX2 - PIN6 (RJ45) TX - PIN4 (RJ45) GND - PIN1 (RJ45) MBUS - PIN5 (RJ45) MBUS - PIN5 (RJ45) RX - PIN2 (RJ45) |

Member: 295102 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | Update: I am using JAF's UFC, meaning cable pinouts my vary from the original UFCv1 or v2. So here's the RJ45 pinout connectivity that goes directly to JAF box: Code: JIG2 RJ45 (JAF side) Pin 1. TX2 - PIN8 Pin 2. TX - PIN4 Pin 3. GND - PIN7 Pin 4 MBUS - PIN6 Pin 5. MBUS - PIN6 Pin 6. RX - PIN5 |

Member: 295102 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | I actually did, as you can see on post #2 the picture refers to RX2, RX on pins (1,2) and my cable to TX2, TX (same pins). Also pin 6 on schematic says TX while mine on cable is RX... Dunno where might be the problem. Could be that I burned the FBUS circuit in the phone ? Before I knew that the pinouts of Jig 2 are completely different from actual phone's pinouts as seen on post #2 I tried to make connection with JAF. Obviously this did not work. Could the original Jig 2 pinouts burn the FBUS circuitry ???? |

Member: 947561 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 14,053 | I don't think it could be as the VPP is not used in the n. 2 by Jaf.. Anyway if you check the JAf pinouts: Pin5=Phone RX Pin4=phone TX Pin8=phone rx2 so the wiring is wrong and you should swap TX and RX BR Alex Last edited by moulnisky; 09-02-2009 at 04:04. |

Member: 295102 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | OK, swapping RX with TX fixed the problem! Now I am able to communicate over FBUS and possibly flash this phone (will try tomorrow). Many thanks moulnisky, you did really help! |
