New version Sim-emu 4.00

First : Thanks for your agrentment.
I'm starting translate for simenu4.00 page to chinese.

Second : Yes Taiwan has GSM System.
Here're more than 5 system provider both GSM-900 and GSM-1800 system.
Ans I've try 3 system provider and one pre-paid card,
both simenu v3 and v4 work perfectlly!!
And as I know in China also have several GSM provide and that's why i want to translate the page to chinese!!
The bad news is some system providers use limited SIM card (like Gemplus and else..).
The SIM will be destoried with cardinal.

Third : I've try simenu v4 on Motorola cd-928 , Timeport p7689 , m3188 the change phone function on all of these phones work fine!!

But I still has some question:
a. Change phone will take more time than use Reset function!!
Sometimes the phonoe will research system twice even it has already registered.
b. All 8 position has same SMS center number , could it be sloved?
c.Is it possible to expand phone book character and quote with larger Sliver card (16f877 + 24C128)

When you finish with it, tell me which is the URL.

To avoid the destruction of SIM, use the SimScan instead of Cardinal, because it has an option to limit the queries to the SIM of the GSM ALGORITHM.

In some models is better to use the Reset option for that reason. It is a problem of the phone, not of the SIM-EMU.

In SIM-EMU, each position has your own SMS Centre Number, you must enter it in each one.

I'll release a version of SIM-EMU for those cards.

For 18 characters per entry and 36 SMS's, the number of phones remaining is 131.

Is it ok ?

To obtain more is necesary to reduce the number of SMS's (5.5 entries for each SMS).

well, i dont need sms or phonebook entries in sim cause i ve got nokia 6210. but its good for those who havent to have storage at sim

Hi Simemu...
I think now that many many people's got phones with internal phone book... could the emu be changed so that the ADN's are reduced to... e.g. 25 and SMS increased accordingly ???

In my T65 the 300 built-in phone book is far enough, BUT SMS's get deleted after changing Sim position...

I think itll be great to have like 60 sms or so [by the way... is there any theoretical limit to SMS entries in a sim card???]

I've got a little question for You:
You described how to make 18 char entries in phone book,
but the last modification at offset 0F72 corresponds correctly only to spanisch version... so the question is: what change i have to made for english version of flash to get the same results?
I need this advice, because "Yo no entiendo espaniol"

so.... if I wanted to reduce # of SMSs to 20 i can get 5.5*16+131 phone book entries (each 18 characters) ... correct?
Haw can i do this?

and one more :
I use s-e-4 with Nokia 6210... I've got two problems:
- after switching operators (using of course "reset method") it takes a quite long time to find network... I think that it's possible coused by updating "forbidden operators list". I deleted it, but two operators that i have put each other in forbidden list every time i swich op's... I don't know if it's exactly that problem... but i think so... Can I deny acces to "forbidden op's list" so they can't update this???
- my two clones have the same card number, but after switch my "last dialled numbers are deleted". Why? Does my nokia recognize cards by IMSI or something .....
I thought, that phone recognize card by card number

I think that all the phones have a limitation of amount of SMS's allowed.

For example, the Nokia 3310, does not support more tha 30 SMS's in your memory.

I store the SMS's only in EEPROM and in this place the maximun is 40 SMS's. In the next version for GreenCard I'll try to support more than 40 SMS's.

In Ericsson phones, the SMS's must be save manually in SIM before changing IMSI, because they noy shown in the other positions.

Do you know how can you do it ?

If not, I can explain you how.

Ok.. anyway i was thinking about that and i realised something... in my T65, for example, and my Movistar SIM... the inbox loading time is extremely large (well, the same in 3310) as i can store 25 sms in the original card.... so imagine 80 or somethng DD
but i still think its quite a good idea.


About the sms deleting problem.... i think its stupid for ericsson to have such "problem".. i mean.... nowadays its LARGE the number of people having more than 1 sim...... and I know how to save them.. thanks :P

but i feel the phone gets too slow when using SIM storage for SMS...

I'm sorry for not to indicate the modification to the english version.

I'd edited the post to clarify this and to include 20 SMS's and 219 ADN's.

About Nokia problems, I recomend to use *3370# to reset the phone and it is normal in Nokia phones to loose the last dialed numbers, because they are not stored in the SIM by this phones.

Ericsson and Alcatel correctly store LND in the SIM and the change of position does not loose this numbers.

By the way ... codes for change prefered codec (like *3370# - for EFR) don't work in nokia 6210

The Nokia does not implement correctly the SATK Refresh command, in particular the Reset variant, instead is executed correctly by the *3370#, unless in some model, p.e. last 3310.
