Hi friends, i am having here one case, where the image flickers,
and backlight cant turn on, only when mechanical pressure is
applyed to phone, when i twist it or pressure it, image flickers
and light goes off, and sometimes its hard to make it work again.
You think i should just heat the coils and ic with paste flux?

Hi mate, you can use multimeter to check the coils and ic whether they are good. In your case, please also check the LCD flex cable. Last time, a customer sent me a water damaged One X, had a similar problem like you, press the phone and the light keeps flashing. I had resoldered the backlight circuit of the LCD and works fine then.

What value does the coil has to have to be working ? Can i check it while still on the board or do i have to de-solder it ? And last, how do i check the IC with the multimeter ? Thanks.

My HTC One X also had a water damage.
Now the screen flickers from time to time (screen is distorted somehow) and often the backlight wont turn on.
If i apply pressure on the back of the (on certain areas) phone it starts to work again. Sometimes pressing the power button very often makes the backlight work too.
Could you please advise me what to do in detail!

Thanks in advance!

Will this also fix my problem. The screen is blank even when plugged in. You can feel it vibrate when you plug it in and see the red LED light flashing. But when not plugged in its a blank screen you can't get it to power on at all.

First of all, thanks to everyone posting their solutions.

I have the backlight problem and I opened up my phone to check for loose connectors, but without success. I guess I need to change the 220. I've located it in the phone, but I don't know how to remove it to replace it with another one - do I need to solder? I have a spare 220 to replace it with from another broken One X.

I haven't done anything more complicated than replacing a battery or a screen before, so bear with me...
