how to change smartphone's WM5 start up / shut down screen - GSM-Forum

Hi,

Would like to know is there a program or any way that i can change my smartphone WM5 start up and show down screen? currently using Dopod S300 been trying many ways to change the logo but it cant work. is there a way to do? do mine sharing it

Up 2 now, only HTC Universal and HTC Wizard can change boot image, and it's very complex to do so

1Open your registery
2Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM
3Edit Shutdown/1 =>Values/Splash with your new /Windows/xxx.bmp
4Edit Startup/1 =>Values/Splash with your new /Windows/xxx.png (this is 1st splash)
5Edit Startup/2 =>Values/Splash with your new /Windows/xxx.png (this is 1st splash)

Use the originals as templates

yeah, i've just read on a foreign forums a few days b4, there are only Wizard and Universal can do up 2 now. They need 2 use a tool 2 mod the ROM. I didn't see anything about editing registry can deal with this thing

i have a question to make

it would be healpful if we want to speedup the startup & Shutdown Process to delete the bmp's?

how exactly can we do that? give an empty path to the string?

Hi ,guys i did it.I change the shut down screen for test perpose and it works.I did not change the start up screen but i wiil.I change the file I name it "qtek2.bmp" (without quotes) resolution 240x320, color bit 24bit and send it to windows folder.Then go registry and change the entrys above and that's all

Almost HTC's product can change splash screen.

Edit registry or mod rom to change Splash screen

hhmmpp... this seem to be not working on DOPODS.... i cant even edit the registery... been playing around with the registery thinggy and keep pop "you cant edit" or "you cant change"
any dopod s300 user... its seem like other brand can work... but why dopod cant...???!!!??!!!
