Member: 95076 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Samsung SGH-Z500 complete unlock solution CDMADriver.rar - 5 MB Z105V1.16.rar - 2.57 MB EasyStudio.rar - 60 MB First thing i did was to install the drivers for the phone(CDMADriver.rar). After that i made a backup using EasyStudio(EasyStudio.rar). Then i made the DB9 connector. Just short pin 2 & 3 and put it on COM1. Then connect the Z500 USB cable(i think it has to be the original Z500 cable not a Z105 or Z107 cable). After that i started winimei(Z105V1.16.rar) and on the first screen i just choose Sweden(i guess you should choose your country) and then i pressed OK. On the next screen i just pressed unlock, and it started i was sweating but it worked! I had my Z500 unlocked! If you would like any further information dont hesitate to ask! Member: 95076 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | debeli: I used the cable that came with the phone. This cable looks like any usb cable(it has a normal usb port on the computer side and the normal connector that samsung has on the phone side) but it also has a small chip in it on one side. sorinm told me in an earlier post that this makes it a serial cable(i guess it makes the phone think it's connected with a serial cable instead of usb). Anyway i just connected this cable between the computer and the phone. Without any modifications. Then the other thing again would be the DB9(serial com port female) which is put on COM1. It has pin 2 & pin 3 connected to eachother. This port has no contact with the other cable whatsoever. After winimei is run once i had to disconnect this "dongle" (if you could call it that since it has no other function than activating COM1?) before i could run winimei again. Seems like COM1 stayed locked after winimei had run once. And had to be disconnected and reconnected between every run. Same thing with the application itself(winimei). Had to be restarted after dis/reconnecting the "dongle". I don't know what further information i can give about the cables and hardware i used. I've posted the model of the cable if you would like to buy one(PCB429USE). But this cable shouldn't be needed for unlock according to sorinm. Good luck! |

Member: 146959 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | What does the DB9 connector do? I'm not very good at these things and it would help considerably if I knew how to use it. Should I only connect it to COM1 and then leave it there during the unlocking, and not do anything else with it or do I need to connect things to it? Please help me. |
