8310 Screen on & off problem

Guys.

The 8310 boots up with no problems until I key in my PIN no. The screen asks me to set the new time but within five secs, the screen goes blank for another few seconds, then again resets itself to ask me to enter the time.... this keeps on going all the time making it impossible to quickly access the phone. Is this a known problem?

I've swapped sims, changed batteries, etc but am not getting any co operation with the phone. Want to understand whats wrong as I have a lot of contacts still on my phone that I want to transfer. Please help

Many thanks

M

Thks Sir William, definitly not a LCD problem as it all works fine before entering the PIN. Must be a software issue....

Seems like a software thing only.....
to verify try to power the phone with a charger plugged in....
if still same then most probably software only..
