Member: 1148454 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 25 | @Sliplock hello, I don't Know if this component is linked with your charging problem but it could as it is placed just behind the charger connector. Do you Still have the component? If yes what you should do is a reballing. You must have a hot air soldering station to proceed and buy Some bga balls with eBay for $5. this should be 5mm I guess. An other solution could be to try to short the pins 2 by 2 and test. Indeed this component could just be a kind of ESD supressor or something like That... |

Member: 1148454 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 25 | @Sliplock last things, if you don't want to reball and resolder the component you could do a "wirebonding" which means that you have to solder very thin (and coated) wire to each component pad and then solder the wire's end to the PCB. This should be easy to do as you only have 4 pads to solder. You just need to have a soldering iron with a very thin tip (<=0.4mm). But before to proceed, you should also try to figure out what was the component side/position regarding to the PCB because this is really important. Regards, Guileukow |

Member: 1148454 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 25 | Hello SLIPLOCK, just FYI, today I've repaired an iPhone watter dammaged which didn't want to charge. When plugged everything was fine except that after one or two minutes the battery logo was filled up with a plug instead of a spark, and didn't want to charge. So I checked first with the same area than you and found nothing wrong so I removed the battery and finally found that the electronic embeded with the battery was highly corroded. I've cleaned this area (there was lots of kapton tape to remove before to operate) and everything started to work again and the iPhone was able to fully charge its battery. Then my today's suggestion is: when an iPhone was watter dammaged it is important to not forget to check the battery's embeded electronic to see if there is no corrosion on it!! Hope this help!! If this work just by shorting the pins, I guess that this is probably T diodes linked to the ground or something like that. If I have a time I will try to find out what this component is but as my phone is well working now I don't have the heart to reopen it again lol regards |
