Thumbs up New version Sim-Emu 4.00

The pages of SIM-EMU are:

http://www.ciberia.ya.com/simemu
http://perso.wanadoo.es/djabif
http://www.meigo.com/simemu

News

. Management of the Sim-Emu through menus of the phone (if it supports it)
. Change of number without powering off the phone (nonvalid in some phones)
. Option of RESET to ask for PIN again (if the change without powering off does not work)
. Management of the 8 telephone numbers from menu (Creation and erasure)
. Configuration of the SMS's from menu in english (use SIM_EMU_FL_4.00_ENG.hex)
. Possibility of assigning a description to each occupied position
. Query of the current number with the associate description
. Query of the actual configuration (actives SMS/ADN and phone numbers)
. Information of version and author with Web sites and email

NOTICE
This version requires that the SIM_EMU_EP_4.00.hex file is recorded since it is incompatible with the external EEPROM of previous versions.
For this reason it is necessary, to conserve the data of the phonebook and SMS's, to do saves of these data in the PC with scripts that I offer.
After the programming and established the wished number of SMS's, to recover the saved data also with scripts.

Once recorded the HEX's files as they come in the ZIP, in addition to the previous procedures to configure the Sim-Emu, now is possible to do it from the menus of the phone.

The menus are structured in the following way:

Sim-Emu 4.00

1) Nr.Tel/SMS
2) Information
3) Reset

The option 1) serves to configure the Sim-Emu and has the following options:

1.1) Sel.Nr.Tel.
Allows to change the position to anyone of the active ones.

1.2) Edit Nr.
Allows to assign a description of up to 12 characters to the actual position.

1.3) Config.Pos.
Allows to configure the indicated position with the IMSI/KI/PUK and PIN data.
By security, first it asks for the PIN of the power on and then the Position, IMSI, KI, PUK, and PIN. Been worth which each one of these data is correct, not allowing to continue with the following one until the present one is correct.

Position: a number between 1 and 8

IMSI: a number with length of 18 decimal digits, first 2 always "08"

KI: a number with length of 32 hexadecimal digits (0 - 9 and To - F capital)

PUK: a number with length of 8 digits decimal (0 - 9)

PINn: a number with length between 4 and 8 digits decimal (0 - 9)

1.4) Config.SMS
Allows to configure the amount of SMS and size of phonebook with the same equivalences that in version 3.00.
By security, first it asks for the PIN of the power on and then the amount of wished SMS's, a number between 20 and 40.

1.5) Erase Pos.
Allows to eliminate the indicated position.
By security, first it asks for the PIN of the power on and then the position that is wanted to eliminate, a number from 1 to 8 except the one of the current position.

[b]The option 2) give us information about the Sim-Emu and has the following options:

2.1) Actual Nr
Show us the selected number with its associated description.

2.2) Configuration
Shows us the present configuration of the Sim-Emu.
For example, if we have 20 SMS and the positions 1, 2 and 4 actives, display the following:

SMS/ADN: 20/250 Nr.Activos: 12-4----

2.3) Version
Shows us the version of the Sim-Emu.

2.4) Author
Shows us the name of the author, the Web sites and email where to find me.

The option 3) allows us to reset the phone to request the PIN

Notes
The option of change of position does not work correctly on all the telephones, for example the Nokia require that a search of networks is made and others take too much in making the change, reason why I recommend to use the Reset option.

The option of Reset is not useful in some versions of Nokia 3310, since phone, INCORRECTLY resend the last PIN introduced, reason why does not serve us to change of PIN.
I recommend to use in the Nokia with this problem the sequence *3370# that makes a complete Reset.

Like advantage of the Nokia phones, the change of the position is always allowed even though the phone is not free for all providers.
In the Trium it happens the same.

You can eliminate all the SMS's, LEAVING INTACT the PHONEBOOK, if you reconfigure the amount of SMS's with the same value.

It is not necessary to power off the phone whenever a change is made in the configuration.
The program determines when it is necessary to reset it and it does it automatictly.

Thanks and sorry for my poor english

OK. It seems to work just fine with S45, using SAT feauture without any problems (great thing).
But just like on 3.0 version - the card crashes ("Card Error"). It crashed it last hour :
1 - one time when changing the phone position using SAT
2 - two times after starting the phone
3- one time when i recived and was reading the incoming SMS

If you will fix this Siemens incomatibility probelm in a future realase, the soft will be PERFECT !!!

Hi Simemu!
Looks like a masterpiece this one to.

I checked it fast and it looks to me as if Offset for
Language byte is set as in ("SimEmu 3.00" Offset - 8 )...
Could this be correct??
If so, is it the same relation between
SMS Center numberīs location to.

Hi Daniel,
welcome to this forum Good work! I like some new features of your SIMEMU but I would miss the Network Info (already present in my GSM SIM emulator). Also the INCREASE command could be VERY helpful for people using prepaid cards where the Operators are using ACM functions. I have this feature included in my version as well and it works fine so let me know if you need my help. I have also updated card switching functionality - works good on N6210 - number change from SIM Toolkit menu is really ONLINE if I change two numbers of the same Operator. No full SIM card reset is necessary in this case at all. Switch between Operators works also good but it takes more time and may not work correctly on some phones - I have similar experiences like you described here.

The Language byte offset is correct, but there are 8 SMS center numbers at positions 90, B0, D0, F0, 110, 130, 150 and 170.

As I said you later, the INCREASE command is not used in Spain, but I'll try to include it in the GreenCard versions for other countries.

Do you know if are there problems with some providers of Poland and Italy with the SL45 due missing of this command ?

Thanks and regards

Hi there

I have 3 numbers on one silver emulated by Sim-Emu and i am using it with Siemens S45 as you know
I discovered something strange. One of those 3 numbers has GPRS activated and it works just fine. But when i change this number using SAT Menu (without reseting the card) and return back again (also using SAT), GPRS in not availible. I need to reset the card and activate this number using a normal way (by enetring the correct PIN).
Oh yeah, and the last portion of complaining abount sponteneus card failures . Now i must to present the 'sad but true' thing - the card is gettin' "..errored" very, very often - while reading SMSes, making a phonecall (or after hanging out), a few seconds after turning on the phone and also in most unexpected situations (for example just while ideling, in a normal stand-by time).
Meaby there are some other users of Sim-Emu 4.0 and Siemens S/ME45 and can confirm those problems with "Card Error". Meaby my phone is failing ?
