Member: 2068635 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Damn! I had the problem, first time i replaced screen, the HTC logo flashed on first boot and it went dim. Then I replaced the 220 coil to a new one, hoping it would work. And it did for a second, after which the screen went dim again! Anyone know what might be causing this? At least now I'm sure what the consequence of this problem is: the 220 coil... but i just don't know the cause |

If the problem is internal to the IC, replacing the coil will be only a temporary fix. Even if someone doesn't have proper tools to check the inductance - just unsolder coils and check resistance: 220 has to be 760mOhm and 2r2 190mOhm. If the inductance and resistance are in range - replace IC or at least try reballing it. In many units even after replacing both coils, phone fails again after hours, sometimes few days. Sometimes IC is re-flowed while replacing coil and the effect seems be positive, but again, it might not be permanent. Replacing 220 coil with the one from iPhone 3gs is a suicide mission. 220 is 22uH, 330mA and 2r2 is 2.2uH, current rating above 1A - after that IC will fail together with the replaced coil. |

I don't think there is a better way to fix this or to make more stable. This is it , I'm sorry for you. Change coil again and be sure (by measuring) that it is a good coil ! Good luck |
