I tried changing the coil and damaged those small rectangular parts beside it.

Can anyone tell me what the black circled parts on this picture are?
Some kind of capacitors or resitors?

Hi everybody,

I'm new here. I have the backlight problem, so I ordered some TPS65200YFFR IC samples from Texas. There exists the TPS65200YFFT on the site, I will have a problem if I use the TPS65200YFFR IC model?

Not tested the coils, just want to change the IC.
How do I remove it and put the new one?
Can I remove the IC with a tweezers?
I need to solder?

Thanks in advance.

220 coil

Hello, I am new to the forum also, I found this site selling 220 coils themselves for the One X: HTC One X Backlight/Charging 220 coil :: IC :: HTC Spare Parts :: Gultek Limited

I bought the screen of my HTC One X and after arriving installed and everything went well. But after putting components inside the housing the screen turned off and will not turn over ... The rest, sounds, and volume functions, etc ... work perfectly. Replacing the coil would solve the problem?
thank you very much

well, i made some experiments and these are my findings:

6r8 instead of the 220 coil does work, but the whole board heats up very badly and after about 10 minutes with screen on, red-green starts to blink (overheating)

2r2 instead of the 220 coil, only works with charger plugged in, guessing not enough power without it.

i now found where to get the exact same 220 coils and should be getting them within a couple of days, will update then.

that is all on a board with i am sure is otherwise perfect.

i have a second board - no matter what i put instead of the 220 - back-light does not come on, i will be trying the second coil, already found it and will have it in a couple of days as well.
if that fails i will try to reheat the IC

the genuine parts used are:

220:
Manufacturer: TDK
part: VLF3012AT-220MR33

second coil:
Manufacturer: TDK
part: VLS252010ET-2R2M

yes, it is the right one, the pic is generic on this site.
the problem with the site you found is that even if you buy only one - shipping will be about 40$...
i'm probably going to be selling those after i confirm for sure that they are working 100%, so if you want to wait a couple ore days, i'll be able to provide it cheaper.

Hello, my one x has a very dim backlight and it flickers, took it to repair shop and they said they replaced the coils and ic chip, and still not fixed. Backlight is flickering more with increased cpu usage, if phone is idle it doesnt flicker, its only dimmed (tested with 2 lcd's).
Can anyone please help me ?
