Nam V.2

@Lalo:

...what about your holidays...

First off all - discription of NAM2 sounds very interesting!

...you know me...just some notes/questions about NAM2:

First - "Bad" News:

07E2D0, 07E2E0, 07E2F0 colides with your own ISP

0DE830 colides with ntcn's BSI V0.2

And now just one question:

Did I understand it the right way, that when I install NAM2-patch, patch automaticly detected installed other patches and integrate the according item(s) for enableing/disableing?

Thanks in advance.

Ehehehe...

Thanks for reporting the conflicts, you have right!
Sometime is hard also for me remember all pubblished patches
I'll post the repalaced version in the afternoon.

About NAM2 autosize capability:
Patch detects if a name is written in IDs string.
If it find a different name from "empty", this will be added as a new item in the profile menu.
Viceversa, if you want to delete an non used item, just replace it's name in the patch item names to "empty" (string ID 322hex).

Of course patches must be rightly built to be selectable throught NAM, old or new version.
But the selectable patch built for NAMv1 are already ready for it and selectable by NAMv2 profile 1 items.

I'll add some more explanation in rilocated release.
Bye

Hi grandmaster
I thought it would take much longer time to adapt the patch. You are amazing even if I can't use the patch now. Thumbs up

This is little change in NAMv3.
The checked word to hide an item is FFFF, as I wrote in patch explanation.

@lukic:
sorry, my disasm are a mess and they were not thought to be pubblished, and so they are not ready for that.
If and when I have time I'll make them pubblishable, but right now I can't.

@cyper:
Thanks my friend.
Actually, I finished the "simply" adaptation the same day I started (BTW, SL v3.b has some errors inside, at least the pubblished in patches thread version)
Then I worked on improuvments (different string ID collector -S45i don't have an extended lgp- , autosize capability, use of different menu structures for 2 menus - sks texts, beginnig icons space and titles - , button 0-9 use, jump to selected item if a button is pressed-not only flag it-), on space saving (use of subroutines, use of all registers, use of RAM), on feature customizable possibility.
Then I made the pictures, and tested it for one day (as always before pubblish a complex patch).
Morover, I'm also trying to study for my examinations (with very little results)...

When you will have the possibility to try it, please tell me if you like the "improuvments"!
Bye

NAM v.3

@Lalo:

Thanks for explaining

Just a last note:

voice 9 is double allocated - look here:

in NAMv3: ;voice 9 = 12 Hours = HFI. 12AM-PM Hours Format in Idle screen

in your CLS-patch:

I would be nice, if you will fix it.

That's it.

Just yet, at the moment I found out, that CLS-patch doesn't work for me (I detected it only by now, then I have mostly all tones off). I've completely undo NAMv3 and it doesn't work. Then I've undo CLS and applied it again same result - phone plays ALWAYS standard log in/log off tone. At first time after applying it worked - why now not???

@genetic:
The error in CLS patch is only one, this:
Quote:
change voice 8 name from "empty" to "own sounds" (uncomment):
Choosen profile 1 menu vioce that control CLS is 11, not 8, I miswritted it.

But as you have evidenced, there is a confilct with CL patch, since both are controllated by item 11.
Probably ntcn and me developed the patch when it was free, in the same time.

This would be a problem before new NAM version, now it's easy to solve it!
CLS will be the first item for profile 2.
I'll post the corrected CLS patch in the night.
Bye

This info was very usefull for me - thanks!

(personaly) I don't want/need to begin the second profile, then I use only 4 items of profile one.

For future patches it would be nice, to do a custamization, with which we can choose profile AND item number seperatly.

Thanks in advance for this!

Is solved now, through your info about correct item number of CLS!!!

Thank you again and good luck for your examinations.

Well... it's possible to add such a customization in each selectable new patch, but is worthly?
It's a little long custumization and, most of all, may cause some mess if everyone change them.
Then I'm afraid someone will tell me... "this patch doesn't work", or "overlaped items", but it's only in his/her phone it's not working for his/her (wrong) custumization.
Morover, when a bit in NAM RAM location is assigned to a function, no other patch will (or should not) be built over it.
So to have in an unique profile with 16 customizated item you will have to customize all patches.

I think NAM autosize capability is already flexible enought to obtain a reasonable menu, it's so bad to have items in more than one profile.

BTW, I decided to have "only" 5 profiles because I thought 80 voices where enought (=64 new selectable patches!), but also because there isn't in lgp a string ID "profile six".
With very little modification I can add as many profiles as I want, if it should be usefull.

@Lalo:

...too bad...

Just another little question about NAMv3:

You did a lot of custamization in NAMv3, but how can I change name of "Applications" menu itself?

e.g. Applications => Spezial

I tried with smelter but I doesn't found string "Applications".

Is it possible by changeing patch data?

If yes - how???

Thanks in advance.

Of course it's possible!
Here is stored main menu name:

5AB20: 06020502 1A0C1A0C

C1A is the string ID for "Application".
You can change string ID, using number 60C=Spezial (much better solution).

Or you can also edit it with Smelter, flagging "Show fw text" voice to see it (remember, all time this string will be called in fw you will see the new text).

@Lalo:

Thanks a lot my friend...

...but I have a VERY STRANGE BEHAVIOUR...

I applied this:

5AB20: 06020502 1A060C0C

and phone shows instead of "Applications":

"Einheit: Celsius"

which is string ID 61A

What's that???

Did you undertand this behaviour???

BTW:

Where/in with menu could I flag "Show fw text"?

Thanks a lot

No.1:

5AB20: 06020502 0C061A0C

No.2:

5AB20: 06020502 0C060C06

Thanks

That's it!
Number 2.
String ID in menu item handler is always written twice, the first for "normal" characters and the second for "big" character options.

Enjoy your "Spezial" menu!

Question

Hello,

I have a question regarding LCC (left character countdown) patch ...
I've noted a strange behavior in the patch LCC, so I'd like to ask, Lalo, whether it is only my-phone-specific problem or it is non-specific error (or my misunderstanding ). When I write a long sms and I come to the second one, LCC info shows 143 characters left for the second sms ... when approaching the third one, it shows 151 (what is ok according your explanation in the patch comment). I've also noticed another nonstandard behavior, but I am not able to reproduce it again (once when I was writing end of the second sms and start of the third one, it suddenly showed this sequence:2 8, 2 7, 2 6, 3 5, 3 4, 3 3, 3 2, 3 1, 3 0, 3 151, 3 150 ... the first character means the sms number (bold) and the second remaining characters ... so to say in words - at the end of the sec. sms it suddenly showed the third sms (even when it is the second) with countdown to zero and after that it starts counting from 151 showing the number 3 for the sms ...)
As I can see my explanation is a bit messy , but I hope understandable ...

Thanks,

morlo

this behaviour is totally right.
The fact is that to send a multiple SMS each SMS must have a header, that uses 8 characters.
LCC starts to 1-160, but when it starts second SMS, it has to add at the beginning of 1 SMS it's header.
So, header for 1st SMS + header for 2nd SMS= 160-8-8=144
- the character you are used entering the 2nd SMS = 143

Sorry I've never experienced such a strange behaviour, and I'm using it since release.
Anyway, I think it was a bug in original fw, as I didn't change the SMS number counting mode, but only the characters one.

BTW, when making the LCC, we (ntcn and me) found a bug in original fw contdown. Some very few used ASCII characters (e.g. ~) use 2 byte in SMS text buffer but are counted only as one character.
So if you insert them in a SMS the LCC will be less conting.
Bye
