Which ones, depends of which / how many VGA Card/s you want to use

If you want to use only 1 card, any motherboard with at least a single 16x PCI-E slot will work.

Lets say that you want to go for a single Radeon HD 6990, you can get it working even on a "cheap" Asrock N68-S3 UCC with an
Athlon II X2 240 / 250 and 2Gb or more of DDR3 memory. The only thing you must choose "Carefully" is the Power supply.

I have 2x HD5970 and a XILENCE 1200W, and for now it was a good option. Since April always in calculation ( 2 or 3 times a day make a pause for 10-15min to refresh the graphics). 1200W is a better choise.

6990 as well need more power then a classic 5970
at standard clock and usage they need 375W each.
If you move the switch on "1" position for the OC they need 450W each
at 900 mhz they start to need 475W EACH
95W is a standard CPU plus all the other periferals and the fans wouldn't be enaugh
A 1200W is 100% the definitive choice

850w would be the safe choice whatever a good certified 800W should be already enaugh
