Has anyone had a problem with the Battery side points in the second pic being burnt out? The left gold point in the circle on my board has apparently burnt out because the gold is not there. Is this something that is repairable?

Can you show on that pic what do you mean by "solder pad of the two LED connections"?

Its not on the LCD its self.
it's the connector that the LCD connects to.
The #1 connector on the circuit board.
Go three post up and look at the picture that says in the big blue letters
"LCD SIDE"
and where it says in red "lcd side points" thats what your looking for.
Did you already try changing out the 6R8 coil?
I found some that worked from DigiKey that i used to fix two of mine.
I didn't have any spare phone to get them from, these have the same markings too and were the same size as well and seem to be working with no problems.
if you need info on what o bought let me know i would be happy to share the info.
Tony

Good morning from Germany,

After trying to find a solution for my faulty touch response, I did a mistake by trying to connect a 3G LCD to my 3GS (it was really a lapse, I won't do that).

Of course the connectors are different, but since then I lost my backlight. Hrrmpff...

Between LCD-PIN 1 and 2 I have a Voltage (4,1 V). What about pin 3? How to test what is wrong with pin 3? Before I'll try to solder the bypass I'll be save that there is no other solution.

Thank you in advance,
Karl

Thank you TRABEL,

I will have a look in my old Nokia K610i and hope I will find one.
Is it necessary to desolder the (maybe) broken one? It should be possible to glue the new one on the top of the old one?

Am I able to test the old one without desoldering with a multimeter? Any suggestions?

Many thank,
Klaus

Good morning again,

I have found a 2R2 in my old HTC-mobil and solder it out but I'm a little bit afraid about soldering it to my iPhone.

LCD Connector 1: I've measure also 4,1 V between pin3 and ground. So if pin 3 fired up the backlight it seems that the connector is ok?

Any possiblities to check the LCD itself?

Many thanks,
Karl
