i have tryed the next coils:
2R2 OK from iPhone 2G logic board.
3R3 OK from iPhone 2G logic board.
100 OK from iPod nano 1G logic board (there are two 100 coils on this board)
220 NOT worked for me.

I will let you know if I find more coils.

How do you unsolder the coil anyways? and how do you solder a new one on?

with hot air reflow system. you can buy one for $50-$80. But it's not easy to use, required much traning. Without that you will only damage the phone.

Pin 2 has 5v output,don't think is coil @fault.direct from some capacitor or under power ic

iphone 3gs coil

fixed mine i got the coil from a guy on ebay for £7.50 he even explained how to replace the coil...heres his ebay id if any1 wants a new coil...

3gs no light

Hi Guys

I had the 3gs no light i did replace the coil 6r8 to 2r2 then the light works good but no touch screen reponds. then i tried with 1 more board 3gs with the coil 100 from 3g board and again i had the same problem light is on but no touch screen respond.
Please help guy to see what did i do wrong.

I buy replacement coils / chokes in the UK from Farnell.

They're not a perfect fit but they work perfectly and only cost £0.26 each
